"幾個不能安睡的夜晚，我開始為這一張唱片做籌備工作！一直以來，都有一種強烈的感覺，而這感覺亦極可能潛伏在每一個歌者的心底深處，就是希望能夠有機會去演繹一些其他歌手的精彩作品！我得承認這張唱片在製作上比起其他我個人的唱片更加困難，理由是因為已有“珠玉在前”！但為了能夠將自己一直以來喜歡的作品演繹出來，我唯有盡心地去將每一首作品努力地唱好！最後，亦是這張專輯面世的最主要原因，便是將每一首翻新的作品送給原來歌曲的主唱者、作曲者、填詞人、編曲人，以作為他們在樂壇辛苦耕耘的回報及我個人向他們的SALUTE

這是張國榮在1989年推出【SALUTE】專輯的序文。這張專輯曾在網路一次百佳評選獨佔鰲頭，是眾多歌迷心目中的最佳中文流行音樂專輯，於我也是毫無疑問的認同，以前，現在。或許Leslie當年沒有想到的是他向那些音樂人的SALUTE，會成為了聆聽它們的歌迷們向他SALUTE。對於這張經典專輯，如果讓我用幾個字來描述我對它的推崇，那麼就是："不朽，完美"。我認為這四個字對這張專輯作為評價毫不為過。有人用它只是翻唱唱片的說法來貶低它的價值，那麼請原諒我嗤之以鼻："SALUTE"之前又有哪張翻唱唱片能得到那麼多聽眾那般的一直推崇，誰又能夠翻唱那麼多不同歌星不同風格的作品，超越經典將之打造成為另一高度的經典。

"童年時"（曲：根田成一 詞：鄭國江 編：RICHARD YUEN）（Leslie：送給異鄉寂寞的一群，你們有想家，想你們的童年嗎？）

原唱者是香港資深音樂人夏韶聲，夏韶聲憑藉此曲成名，或許是因聲線特點的緣故，但相比之下，張國榮方能將它演繹到迴腸盪氣的境界，時而低沉時而高亢，跌宕而流暢，為它增添了渾厚的歲月美感，濃郁的滄桑氣息，如同晨霧般縈繞不去，失神過後，方才察覺臉上已經流淌潮濕的印記。

"但願人長久"（曲：盧冠廷 詞：唐書琛 編：盧東尼）（Leslie：作曲與填詞天衣無縫，Lo Lo與書琛，本來就是天作之合！）

盧冠廷不多的為人所傳唱的歌曲，盧冠廷展示其才華的領域是作曲與編曲，但他的聲線也十分別異，帶有抖擻的顫音。而對這首歌曲兩個版本對照打個粗略的比喻，在盧的版本聽到是深切的哀傷，舊情未了的狀態；而在張的版本聽到淡化了的傷感，久別之後的懷念，或說是將思念濃縮轉化為祝福的形式表達，儘管種種心緒不外同為一種牽掛。

"紙船"（曲：許冠傑 詞：許冠傑 編：鮑比達）（Leslie：填詞、作曲、主唱集于一身的阿SAM，SUPER ARTIST，SUPER FRIEND，SUPERMAN！）

不可否認，許冠傑于香港中文流行音樂發展所處的重要位置。但個人並不喜歡那種聲線及風格，儘管他是我偶像的偶像。聽到張國榮的這首"紙船"，有種化腐朽為神奇的感覺，面目一新而別具特色的一首歌曲。

"明星"（曲：黃沾 詞：黃沾 編：盧東尼）（Leslie：香港非常難找的“LOW-PROFILE”藝人，DEANIE，我崇拜你！另外，黃沾……，WHAT CAN I SAY！）
相信提及這首歌曲的原唱者，怕是大多數人都不知道或直接認作為張國榮。葉德嫻正是張國榮所讚譽為人行事非常低調而個性鮮明的一位歌星，唱功更是十分了得，但這首"明星"卻只能說張國榮演繹得最為出色。

"從不知"（曲:郭小霖 詞:林振強 編:鮑比達）（Leslie：第一次聽“從不知”與第一次接觸“無心睡眠”的感覺是同樣的——非常雀躍。）

將張國榮歌唱事業推至高峰的"無心睡眠"便是郭小霖的曲作，對郭小霖，張國榮他除了欣賞，應該亦有深厚的感激之情。

"滴汗"（曲：CINDY GUIDRY/GIEGORY GUIDRY 詞：林振強 編：IWASAKI YASUNORI）（Leslie：SENSUALITY & SEXUALITY！）

這首歌原唱者是林憶蓮，同一歌曲完全不同偑格的演繹，性感，感性，彌漫著唯美的氣息。

"漫天風雨"（曲：李雅桑 詞：湯正川 編：林廣培）
（Leslie：我喜歡“醉生夢死”的電影，亦喜歡同類型的歌曲！）
原唱者徐小鳳字正腔圓的唱功自是無可挑剔的，但我偏愛張國榮那帶著無盡倦怠的聲音。一個下雨晚上，身心俱疲，一個人，在熄了燈的房間，迴圈播放這首歌曲，漆黑裏呆坐，放釋著倦意，背景聲音是那窗外風雨，及那間隔飛馳而過的車聲，由遠到近，由近而逝。推開窗，靜望迷茫的景象，刹那意會到"醉生夢死"的含義並非儘是盡情抵死的纏綿，也可以是疲憊不堪的茫然。

"這是愛"（曲：林敏怡 詞：林敏聰 編：FUJITA DAITO）（Leslie：特別送給敏怡、敏聰、ANN HUI、發仔、TEDDY）

泰迪羅賓的一首老歌，經重新編曲，由張國榮演繹起來，並無歲月留痕，十分耐聽。這是周潤發主演的一部電影的插曲，張國榮是一個十分長情的人，同他合作的人，無論是電影，還是音樂，總能念念不忘。

"雪中情’89"（曲：邰肇玫 詞：盧國沾 編：FUJITA DAITO）（Leslie：每次在有嚴冬的國家看見白雪，便會想起這首歌，盧國沾，謝謝你的詞！）

原唱者是否八十年代初期的當紅歌星關正傑，無從考據。記得在此前，張國榮的專輯已經收錄過此曲。再次收錄，可見他對此曲的喜歡。儘管此曲十分的溫馨，但覺也只是中規中矩。或是它是他私人某些難忘的記憶，因而特別偏愛吧。

"似水流年"（曲：喜多郎 詞：鄭國江 編：RICHARD YUEN）（Leslie：好一個喜多郎！好一個鄭國江！好一個梅姑姑！）

這張專輯中的一些名字，已經成為悼念與追憶的符號，黃沾、林振強、梅豔芳，還有這張專輯歌者的張國榮，世事轉眼成滄桑，滿目蒼茫。歌曲尾音"外貌早改變，處境都變，情懷未變"。聆聽者對他們的懷念亦是吧。

U2 - U218 Singles (2006)

U2在高中就讀時青澀模樣的照片

成軍30週年的超級樂團 U2，與年輕的"green day"破天荒合作翻唱蘇格蘭龐克團體 The Skids在1980年代的成名曲"The Saints are coming"，是主要為紐奧爾良災區的音樂人募款，所有款項將全部作為災區樂手購買樂器的基金。而這首" The Saints are coming"也將收錄在 U2發行的精選輯" U2 18 SINGLES"中。說到這張" U2 18 SINGLES"專輯，我想絕對不是為了滿足U2分布在任何一個年齡層的基本教義派歌迷的收藏癖，最重要的原因應該是唱片公司為了歲末迎新的唱片市場撈錢。還好專輯裡有U2的"國歌"："War"專輯裡紀念愛爾蘭血腥暴動的"Sunday Bloody Sunday"，用情歌影射政治，獻給波蘭"團結工聯"的"New Year’s Day"，超級經典專輯"Joshua Tree"裡那三首廣播電台百播不爛的"With Or Without You"、" Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For"和"Where The Streets Have No Name"及2000年"All That You Can’t Leave Behind"裡的四首成人抒情單曲，還有Bono在1998年U2第一張的精選集"The Best Of 1980-1990"裡重新灌錄，據說是1987年在製作"Joshua Tree"專輯時，因為忘記妻子生日，為賠罪而寫的"Sweetest Thing"。限量版附贈長約一小時的DVD是2005年他們在米蘭舉辦的演唱會精華；片尾Bono在演唱穿上了印有倫敦地鐵標誌的T恤，紀念在演唱會舉辦前一星期死於地鐵爆炸案的犧牲者。

Muse-Absolution(2004)

被英傳媒譽為Radiohead接班人的Muse，音樂兼具了咆哮的吉他聲響以及優美的旋律，除此之外，他們更有著媲美Manson那充滿戲劇張力的編曲，以及主唱Matthew酷似已逝的天才歌手Jeff Buckley般的嗓音，張張專輯都很獨特出色，特別是今年出版的"Black Holes and Revelations"專輯評價很高。

Sonic Youth-The Destroyed Room: B-Sides and Rarities(2006)

時常會把sonic youth 與紐約的"No Wave"藝術表演和"No Wave"音樂表演相聯繫，The Destroyed Room: B-Sides and Rarities這張大碟對現在唱片界來說真是太難得的一張噪聲實驗專輯，有人認為八0年代末期的吉他噪音經過九0年代整整10幾年的不斷改良與發展，樂手們越來越聰明，效果器也越來越進步，回過頭去聽以前的 Sonic Youth，常常覺得有點老氣或過時，這是我深深極為不同意的。就像吉他手Thurston Moore在1991年接受"Guitar Player"訪問表示，他從來不注意和弦和音階，只是嘗試按出好聽的聲音，「我很喜歡彈NEIL YOUNG，雖然只有三個和弦，但是我還是彈不出來。..就算現在開始練，練到五十歲，還是有可能練不出一個很屌的版本；所以我開始重新調弦、實驗，嘗試創新。」搖滾樂之所以能夠到處流竄，怎麼弄都不會死，因為能打破規則，也就是創新吧。

The Wrens - The Meadowlands(2003)

這是一張非常棒的indie rock專輯，在Meadowlands裡沒有浮誇、虛偽，只有最原始的感情和音樂，13首歌都很愛，尤其超愛Hopeless，這支平均年齡逾40歲的樂團，鬱卒了7年(可以說是史上運氣最差的樂隊之ㄧ)，終於在2003年以Meadowlands揚眉吐氣。

Mew-Frengers (2003)

北歐丹麥的4人團體 Mew(海鷗)，1997年便已出版了他們的第一張專輯"A Triumph For Man"，當年只限量印製了二千張而已。然後一直到2003年出版的這張專輯"Frengers"，這應該算是Mew的第3張專輯，也是讓他們走出丹麥進軍世界的轉捩點，Frengers的意思是"Not Quite Friends, Not Quite Strangers"，今天所有的海鷗迷都自稱是Frengers，主唱Jonas Bjerre的聲音，高亢有點假音和童聲，但又冷靜內斂不張揚，這張專輯非常好評，尤其是Comforting Sounds，是那種聽了上百次還是會殺死人的歌曲，Frengers和2005年出版的專輯" And The Glass Handed Kites"比較起來，我還是鍾愛Frengers。

Nouvelle Vague-Bande A Part(2006)

這是我最近很喜愛的團體，雖然有人認為她們唱的歌都是翻唱，但是人家翻唱得還真有試驗性，從選曲到改編曲子，都別樹一幟，聽得心服口服。
Nouvelle Vague2004年出道，是由兩名法國音樂人Marc Collin與Olivier Libaux組成的隊伍，他們都是電音DJ、製作人、與樂器演奏能手，Marc與Olivier一共找來了幾個清新女聲演唱了專輯裡的十四首歌，Bande A Part是第2張專輯，相較於前張專輯Bossa nova風，這張更融合了Downbeat、Reggae、Brazilian、Tropicalia等樂風。還要提的就是她們cd的封面，頗有普普風，滿有收藏價值的，誠品書局現有賣。
